GIANTS RIDGE, Minn. - The Wildcats turned in a dominant performance in its opening race of the season, with plenty of top-10 finishes across the men's and women's teams in today's Giant Slalom event.
A total of six men finished in the top 10, led by
Brad Seaborg and
Andrew Truman, along with eight women representing the top 10, led by Tommie Jo Springer and
Ella Wichert.

Men's Runs
Brad Seaborg (27.17, 30.61 - 57.78) claimed gold, edging Ethan Ross of St. Olaf by .21 seconds. His first run time of 27.17 was the fastest run among all competitors on the day.
Andrew Truman (27.64, 30.86 - 58.50) found the podium, claiming bronze to round out the podium. Truman's first run was the third-fastest among all competitors.
Aaron Grzelak (27.68, 30.90 - 58.58) was just .08 seconds behind his Wildcat teammate for a podium spot in fourth, followed closely by
Reed Heathman (27.86, 31.12 - 58.98) in sixth.
Will Blackmer (28.06, 31.56 - 59.62) and
Mitchell Forsberg (28.25, 31.60) rounded out the 'Cats in the top 10, finishing eighth and 10th, respectively.
Colin Dehart finished 14th,
Nathan Dehart finished 19th, and
Connor Abraham rounded out the 'Cats at 20th.
Women's Runs
The women dominated the top 10, controlling eight of the spots and led by
Tommie Springer (32.26, 29.83 - 1:02.09) who claimed first place after posting the fastest run of the evening in her second run.
Ella Wichert (32.58, 30.71 - 1:03.29) rounded out the podium for the 'Cats in the bronze.
The next six spots were controlled by NMU, with
Reagan Olli (32.85, 30.69 - 1:03.54),
Kaylee Byrne (32.45, 31.26 - 1:03.71),
Maya Bubolz (33.15, 31.31 - 1:04.46),
Cassidy Whitener (33.71, 31.21 - 1:04.92), Madalyn Stern (33.97, 31.29 - 1:05.26), and
Emily Creek (33.97, 31.29 - 1:05.26).
Jacey Johnson finished just outside the top 10 at 11th, followed by
Erin Hoelzel at 13th,
Julia Greene at 14th, and
Georgette Sake in 20th to round out the 'Cats.
