Football Headed to the Motor City to Face the Warriors

DETROIT, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University Football team will travel to Wayne State University to take on the Warriors. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.  

LAST TIME OUT

The Wildcats hosted the Post University Eagles for homecoming, where they were to come out on top with a 42-14 victory over the Eagles. The Wildcats led from start to finish in the game.  

HAVE A DAY

The offense was rolling for the Wildcats. They had several players who had themselves quite the day.  

Zach Keen finished 16 of 24 for 311 yards and three touchdowns. Keen also added a rushing touchdown as well.  

Wyatt Davis and Kenyon'TA Skinner both eclipsed 100 yards on the day. Skinner finished with 105 yards and a touchdown, and Davis finished with 101 yards and two touchdowns.  

Tyshon King was the leading rusher for the Wildcats with 172 yards on 19 carries.    

BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL

The Wildcat defense had a tremendous day as well.  

They held the Eagles to 14 points and forced them into numerous three-and-outs on the day.  

Antonio Howard and Justin Peake were flying around for the Wildcats. They both had nine tackles each on the day.  

John McMullen had eight tackles, a sack, and a QB hurry.  

Tavion McCarthy also had an interception and multiple pass breakups on the day.  

The Wildcat defense had five total sacks and forced the Eagles into eight punts.

NMU VS WAYNE STATE

The Wildcats are 5-7 against Wayne State since they first started playing each other back in 2008. The Wildcats came out on top last year, winning a thriller 26-17.
