MARQUETTE, Mich.--- The Northern Michigan University National Training Site weightlifting team is once again America's strongest team after placing first in the coed division in this weekend's University National Championships in Columbus, Ohio.

Top finishers on the men's side were Lukas Zielke, Gage Senty and Ryland Shriver, who all earned first-place finishes.

Zielke's total of 246 kg gave him the win in the 67 kg weight category. He also earned a bronze for his 105 kg lift in the snatch and a gold for his lift of 141 kg in the clean and jerk.

Shriver, who competed at 109 kg, placed first for all three of his totals, which included snatch (150 kg), clean and jerk (180 kg) and total (330 kg).

Senty took first at 109+ kg with his 303 kg total. On his way to victory, he netted a gold in the snatch with a lift of 135 kg and a silver in the clean and jerk with a 168 kg lift.

Earning third-place finishes on the men's side were Calvin La and Lander Wells.

La took home bronze at 73 kg with a total of 260 kg. He also won a silver for his 120 kg snatch and a bronze for his 140 kg clean and jerk.

Wells finished third in the 89 kg category with his total of 282 kg. His 127 kg snatch earned a bronze and his 155 kg clean and jerk was fourth best in his class.

Making the podium on the women's side was Ella Holden. Holden lifted 73 kg in the snatch and 92 kg in the clean and jerk. She earned silver medals for both of those lifts and her total of 165 kg gave her a second-place overall finish in the 55 kg weight class.

Jada Jenkins and Hannah Alvis both had fifth-place finishes for the NMU team. Jenkins lifted a 151 kg total at 55 kg and Alvis lifted a 174 kg total in the 64 kg weight class.
