SAGINAW, Mich. - Playing unbeaten No.4 Saginaw Valley State on the road on Sunday, the Wildcats held strong down the stretch and got the equalizer on a penalty kick for a 2-2 draw.
Cian Tunney scored in the first half, but SVSU had two unanswered as they led by one at halftime.
Tommaso Lami tied it on a penalty kick and the Wildcats anchored down the defense down the stretch for the draw.
Each side had 13 shots while the Green and Gold got one more on goal.
"Fantastic result on the road against one of the best in the country," Coach Fatovic commented in the postgame. "Saginaw again showed why they are ranked #4 overall, turning around our 1-0 advantage to go up 2-1 at the half. However, time and time again our boys always respond, and today was no different. Valient effort to equalize and hold on for a massive point on the road in the second half. Now it's back home for senior weekend and two must-win games. As I said all along, I would not bet against this team. We are only getting better."
