MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan University women's lacrosse team looks to break the program record for most wins in a season in a two-game series against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Ashland University inside the Superior Dome this weekend.
The action begins Friday at 7 p.m. in game one and the series wraps up with game two Sunday at 9 a.m.

The Wildcats won their first two games over Columbia-St. Paul in the history of the program the last time they took to the turf.
In the first contest, regulation was not enough time to determine a winner. NMU and CSP went into overtime tied 15-all. The winning goal came for the Wildcats from Katelyn Mongold who scored on a free position shot to take the 16-15 victory
NMU tied the program record for most wins in a season in the second game. Jessica Daniels scored a team-high four goals and keeper Cam Stilson grabbed 12 saves for the Wildcats.

CHECKING THE STATS |
Emily Renfrew is leading the GLIAC in two statistical categories while two others rank in the top five of other categories.
Renfrew is leading in goals (27) and shots (56) while placing second in points (34).
Madeline Bittell is making her mark in several categories. She is third in shots (43), fourth in assists (9), and is tied for fourth in points (27).
Goalie Cam Stilson is also on the leaderboards. She is second in both saves (61) and save percentage (41.5).

If the Wildcats win another game this season they will set the program record for most wins in a season. The current record was set by the 2019 team and was tied by the current team with their wins over Concordia-St. Paul.
