MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan University volleyball brings in a five-game winning streak to their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) weekend tilts with Northwood University. The teams will face off both Friday and Saturday in Marquette.

The Wildcats swept the Rangers of Parkside with two consecutive 3-1 matches. In match one, NMU took the first set 25-18 before falling 22-25 in the second. The Wildcats rallied to take the final two sets 25-16 and 25-17.
Saturday's match saw the Rangers win the first set 25-21 over NMU. After the loss, the Wildcats took sets two through four with scores of 25-17, 25-18, and 25-19 to leave the weekend with two wins.

NMU volleyball has student-athletes in the top three of four different statistical categories in the GLIAC.
Jacqueline Smith leads the conference in kills per set with 4.33 while Alli Yacko holds the top spot in total digs with 137.
Lizzy Stark is the next on the board ranking third in total kills (83). Lauren Caprini is second in service aces per set (0.63) with Evynn Layshock directly behind her in third (0.50).

The Wildcats have won eight consecutive matches over the Timberwolves with an all-time record of 45-26. NU enters the contest 5-1 overall after taking a two-match sweep over Wayne State 3-0 on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday.
NMU defeated the Timberwolves 3-0 in the last meeting between the two teams, with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-19.
