MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan University Volleyball continues their road swing in search of their 10th and 11th straight match wins when they take on a two-match series against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Davenport University this weekend.
The first match takes place Friday at 5 p.m. while the Saturday match will begin at 1 p.m.

The Wildcats notched wins No. 8 and 9 with two 3-0 matches over Lake Superior State. NMU took the first match was with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, and 25-13 to begin the weekend series.
Match two was also in the Wildcats' favor as they won the first set 25-15, the second 25-21, and the final set to clinch the win 25-14.

NMU volleyball continues to have student-athletes in the top three of seven different statistical categories in the GLIAC, with two players leading their respective categories.
Jacqueline Smith continues her run of being No. 1 in the conference in kills per set (4.20) while Lauren Caprini is top in the GLIAC in service aces per set (0.54).
Smith, Meghan Meyer, and Alli Yacko all stand at second in various statistical metrics: Smith has 126 total kills, Meyer owns a .435 hitting percentage, and Yacko has 196 total digs.
Lauren Van Remortel is also represented, landing third in service aces per set (0.49) and assists per set (11.03).

NMU VERSUS DAVENPORT |
The all-time series between the Wildcats and the Panthers sits at 3-2 in favor of NMU. Davenport has a 7-3 record in 2021, defeating Wayne State 3-1 in the team's last outing.
NMU came out on top of Davenport in the last matchup between the teams with a 3-1 win in September of 2019. The match played out with set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-15, and 25-23.
