POSTSEASON PLAY

By virtue of conference records at the end of the weekend, the Wildcats have clinched a spot in the GLIAC playoffs.

At the conclusion of conference play, NMU will provide tournament seeding and match location.

LAST TIME OUT

The Wildcats had a busy two-match Halloween weekend.

Starting the weekend off strong NMU had a 2-0 shutout win against St.Cloud State on Friday.

Quinn Putt and Isaac Ward both found the net and scored for the 'Cats. Junior goalkeeper Alex Weaver had 3 big saves not letting anything past him while he played for all 90 minutes.

On Sunday, Northern fought hard against Upper Iowa but fell short in a 2-4 loss against the Peacocks.

Niko Scheibal and Logan Lazar both scored goals for the Wildcats.

Prior to the game, NMU celebrated Arni Eiriksson, Brady Kronenburg, Kaffie Kurz, Julius Reis, Markus Sandstad, and Alex Scott as the seniors on the team and all of the hard work they contributed in their time in Marquette.

STAT LEADERS

Ryan Palmbaum stays ranked in the conference in shots, now tied for fourth with a total of 52 this season.

WILDCAT TALK

Parkside is a very good team. They're a difficult team to play with all kinds of weapons," said head coach David Poggi.

"We'll have to be very good defensively, and we'll try to use that to our strength. We'll make sure that we keep people as healthy as possible as well."

I'm just happy that we're to this point where we're getting into the tournament," added Poggi. "Your record doesn't follow you into the conference tournament. It's who you're playing that first day. Once we get past Parkside, we'll be focused completely on who that opponent is and how we're going to work to win."

NMU VS PARKSIDE

Earlier this season Northern beat Parkside for the first time in program history, and the 'Cats are hoping to earn the season sweep this Thursday.
