MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan University women's basketball team continues their stretch of road games this weekend when they travel to the Eastern U.P. for a pair of games against Lake Superior State University, Jan. 30-31. Both games are set to start in Sault Ste. Marie at 3 p.m.

The women most recently went 1-2, including a weekend split at home against Ferris State. The team boasted a decisive 77-61 victory on Saturday afternoon against the Bulldogs before falling just short of an 18-point fourth quarter comeback, dropping a 66-64 final for the split. Sophomore point guard Makaylee Kuhn was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Player of the Week for her performance through both games.
The team returned to action for a mid-week matchup at Michigan Tech where they fell 55-46 to complete the three-game stretch.
