MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan University women's basketball team returns home to the Berry Events Center this weekend as their final two-game weekend series of the regular season.
The women host Grand Valley State University at 7:30 p.m. Thursday before a senior day celebration on Saturday when they face off against Davenport at 3 p.m.

The Wildcats played two close games last weekend at both Lake Superior State and Ferris State but came up empty handed at the end of the day.
Against the Lakers, Makaylee Kuhn picked up 16 points as well as six rebounds, leading the team in both categories. The team shot 34.5 percent from the field but were unable to close the five-point gap as they fell to LSSU, 59-54.
On Saturday the women once again fought back hard in the second half, looking to overpower the Bulldog offense, but despite finding net on 22 of 59 shots, the women dropped a 68-56 decision in Big Rapids, Michigan. Elena Alaix added 16 points to her resume with her performance Saturday while Jessica Schultz led the team in rebounds with 10.

NMU VERSUS GRAND VALLEY

With an all-time record of 42-52-0, GVSU leads the series. Last season the two teams split their regular season series while GVSU grabbed the victory in their earlier contest this year.

NMU VERSUS DAVENPORT
|
The Wildcats are undefeated against Davenport, with a 5-0-0 record. Last month, the women beat the Panthers, 52-42, behind 18 point performances by both Jessica Schultz and Erin Honkala. Schultz also had 13 rebounds in the game for another career double-double.

SENIOR NIGHT
|
Prior to tipoff on Saturday against Davenport, the Wildcat women will honor their three seniors in Baleigh Delorit, Erin Honkala and Jessica Schultz.
A native of Algoma, Wisconsin, Delorit boasts 138 career points and has contributed greatly on defense in her four years with the Wildcats.
Honkala, hailing from Howell, Michigan, owns 718 career points for the green and gold while boasting a shooting percentage of 39.2 percent. In 112 games played with the Wildcats, Honkala adds 107 blocked shots to her reusme and 100 steals while adding 67 assists.
Schultz currently leads the team in points with 364 this season and ranks 20th in program history with 1,188 career points. A Mineral Point, Wisconsin native, Schultz's 47.4 percent shooting percentage over four years ranks as one of the best on the team. In 115 games played, and 110 of those started, she has registered 130 career blocked shots, including a career-best 42 this season. She also boasts 130 career assists and 43 steals as a Wildcat.
