Last Chance Effort Just Short For Men's Basketball At FSU

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — The Wildcat men's basketball team led at the half, 43-38, but were unable to hold back the offensive power in the second as they fell at the buzzer to Ferris State, 71-68.

On the afternoon, the men hit 43.4 percent of their shots from the field and went 14 of 33 from beyond the arc, or 42.4 percent.

The Wildcats had 27 rebounds in the game, led by Myles Howard with six. He also had the second-best assist total with three, behind Sam Taylor's seven assists and 21 points. 

Ben Wolf posted the second highest point total for NMU against the Bulldogs as his 14 bench points helped keep the Wildcats' hopes alive late. 

Alec Fruin's game-tying shot as time expired came just shy as the team finished the day with 68 points to the Bulldogs' 71.

  UP NEXT

The Wildcats will play out the remainder of their season at home with upcoming games against Grand Valley State, Davenport and Michigan Tech.

The GVSU game will start at 5:30 p.m. this coming Thursday (February 20) before honoring the senior nights on Saturday between the men's and women's games.
