The first Panthers' score came in the 69th-minute on a header by Cam Cavanagh off a 15-yard cross. DU went up a pair of goals in the 82nd-minute of play on an NMU own goal. The score would hold the rest of the way, giving Davenport the victory.

Late in the 88th-minute, junior forward Sam Popp (Northville, Michigan) recorded the only other NMU shot attempt that was also saved by the Panther keeper.
