Wildcat Men's Soccer Falls to Ohio Dominican

Box Score

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Ívar Árnason scored a penalty kick goal for the second-straight game, but the Northern Michigan men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Ohio Dominican Sunday afternoon at the NMU Soccer Field.

After Michael Fragoulis gave Ohio Dominican a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute, Árnason's strike drew the Wildcats even with the Panthers in the 35th minute.

But Ohio Dominican ultimately scored two goals in a one-minute span early in the second half to down Northern Michigan, which moves to 3-6-1 in GLIAC action.

Clayton Hildebrand recorded eight saves to lead the Panthers to victory.

Filippo Torelli made four saves. Árnason, Brandon DeSmyter and Sam Popp each posted two shots on net.

Northern Michigan returns to action next weekend, hitting the road to square off against Lake Erie (Oct. 14, 7 p.m.) and Walsh (Oct. 16, 3:30 p.m.)
