Biography

2017: Did not appear due to injury. Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team.

2016: Appeared in 17 games, starting 14. Took seven shots, including four on target.

Before NMU: During his time at Dewitt High School, DeSmyter garnered second team all-state, all-district and all-league accolades and helped his team reach the district quarterfinals. He bypassed his senior season at Dewitt to play for Vardar Academy, leading the squad to a runner-up finish in fall league action. DeSmyter played club soccer for TNT Soccer Club from 2008 to 2015, winning a U18 Midwest Regional League title and reaching the Michigan State Cup finals in 2012, 2013 and 2015. He was also a member of the Bloomfield Force U18 Super Y team that won a U18 national championship.
