Box Score MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan volleyball team moved to 2-0 in Wildcat Open tournament play, topping Cedarville, 3-1, Friday night at Vandament Arena in front of 205 fans.
The Wildcats won the first set, 25-21, before dropping the second, 25-20. Northern Michigan rebounded by winning the third and fourth sets, 25-16 and 25-19.
"I'm very proud of the team, and especially our two seniors," head coach Dominic Yoder said. "I think we did a good job tonight in all aspects of the game, and our serving really threw Cedarville out of formation."
As a team, the Wildcats recorded a .296 hitting precentage and limited the Yellow Jackets to a .096 percentage. Northern Michigan also held a 8.5-4 edge in blocks.
Lisa Studnicka and Autumn Monsma tied for the game-high with 17 kills each while Alex Berger led all players with 24 digs. The full box score can be found here.
Going into the Wildcat Open's final day, the Wildcats are tied with rival Michigan Tech for first with a spotless 2-0 record. The full standings are below:

The Wildcat Open begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. Northern Michigan will put its undefeated record on the line at 1 p.m. against Upper Iowa. The Wilcats will also square off against Fort Hays State at 5 p.m.
