Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio — The Northern Michigan volleyball team blanked Tiffin, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Gillmor Student Center in front of 198 fans.
"Today was a complete performance," head coach Dominic Yoder said. "The team executed on all sides of the ball, and I'm proud of the team's character and effort."
The Wildcats made quick work of the Dragons, 25-19, 25-16, in the first two sets. In the third set, they crushed the Dragons, 25-7, and at one point went on a 9-0 run with Lisa Studnicka serving.
As a team, Northern Michigan recorded a .278 hitting percentage and limited the Dragons to a .012 hitting percentage, holding them at -.276 in the third set.
The Wildcats were led by Autumn Monsma, who had nine and a hitting percentage of .615. Bridget Bussell posted five kills and a hitting percentage of .364; Kayla Chosa recorded eight kills and a hitting percentage of .357 while Madison Whitehead finished with 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .348.
Jami Hogeboom posted a game-high 37 assists while Alex Berger was the lone player to reach the double digits in digs, posting 19.
With the win Northern Michigan elevated its record to 16-7 (5-6 GLIAC). The Wildcats return to action when they open a two-game home stand against Grand Valley State Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.
