Box Score AURORA, Ill. — The Northern Michigan volleyball team capped an undefeated weekend at the Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Bellarmine Saturday afternoon at the Great Lakes Center.
"This was a great weekend for us," head coach Dominic Yoder said. "The team played very well tonight. Serving was key for us, and we had good performances from key people."
After dropping the first set, 25-19, the Wildcats rallied to win the next three, 25-21, 25-13 and 25-17.
Offensively, the Wildcats were once again led by Kayla Chosa, who finished with 15 kills and a .345 hitting percentage, and Lisa Studnicka, who recorded 15 kills and a .216 hitting percentage.
Madison Whitehead recorded 10 kills and a .360 hitting percentage while Bridget Bussell posted nine kills and a match-high .600 hitting percentage.
Jami Hogeboom recorded 41 assists. It was the seventh time she reached the 40-assist mark this season. Alex Berger posted 15 digs.
"Chosa had a monster weekend for us," Yoder said. "Hogeboom also did very nice setting a strong strategy against BU.
"With the win, the Wildcats improve to 15-6 (4-5 GLIAC). They return to the court against Ohio Dominican Oct. 23 in Columbus, Ohio.
