FINDLAY, Ohio – The Northern Michigan women's basketball team rebounded from a four-point halftime deficit to beat Findlay 71-66 Saturday in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference action.

The win pushed the Wildcats to 6-1 overall and they remained undefeated with a 3-0 league mark. Findlay fell to 4-2 with a 2-2 league record. 

Junior guard Lauren Gruber led the Wildcats with 16 points. Senior forward Annie Rubendunst added 13 for NMU followed by sophomore forward Nea Makela and junior guard Alyssa Colla with 11 each.

Margaret Wuebker led Findlay with 21 points and was the only Oiler to score in double-figures. 

After trailing 35-31 at the half, Findlay opened the second frame with an 8-0 run to take a 12 point lead over the Wildcats. Makela hit a three-pointer with 18:29 remaining in the second to spark a 23-10 run for NMU.

The run was capped by a three-pointer from Rubendunst with 10:31 remaining in the game to give NMU the 54-53 lead. The Oilers built a seven-point lead when Karli Bonar hit a three-pointer with 5:54 remaining, but NMU outscored Findlay 16-4 through the final minutes to seal the victory for the Wildcats. 

Northern Michigan shot 24-54 from the floor (44.4%) and were 13-14 from the free throw line (92.9%). NMU outrebounded Findlay 36-32 and outscored them in the paint 24-18.

The Wildcats return to GLIAC action at 6 p.m. Monday at Hillsdale.
