BEFORE NMU: Deering was a four-year starting midfielder for John Glenn High School (Westland, Michigan). In the classroom, the midfielder owned a 3.9 grade point average and is a Torch and Laurel Scholar. Deering has competed for three different club teams, playing for A.C. Milan most recently.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Jennifer and Scott Deering and has one brother, Jacob.
