Nathan Phillips enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Wildcats in 2025.
Phillips joins the Wildcats after three seasons as an assistant coach with Millikin University, a DIII university that competes in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). After Phillips joined Millikin in 2022, the Big Blue saw record improvements each season, posting records of 5-7-3 in his inaugural season, 7-6-4 in his second, before making a jump to 14-4-1 and earning the three seed in the CCIW tournament and the right to host a playoff game for the first time in program history.Â
Prior to Millikin, Phillips spent three seasons as an assistant as an assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State University, a DII school that competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID, and the Mustangs had a combined record of 15-18-2 in 2019 and the 2021 seasons.
Phillips holds a United Soccer Coaches National Diploma, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma, United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 1&2 Diplomas, and is CSCS Certified.Â
Phillips graduated from the University of Mary in 2019 and earned his master's degree in Physical Education from Southwest Minnesota State.Â
