Northern Michigan University

A former soccer player at both the NCAA DI and DII levels, Laura Wayland is joining the NMU women's soccer staff for 2021.

Wayland started her career at DII Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colo. In her year at MSU the team advanced to the final four of the NCAA Tournament.

She then continued her career at DI University of Northern Colorado. The center back played three seasons for the Bears and notched two goals. She was also team captain in her final year and helped the UNC Bears capture a Big South Conference regular-season title.

Wayland began her coaching journey assisting with camps at UNC. She has also spent time coaching recreational and club soccer.
