Keegan Schmidt is joining the men's soccer team as a volunteer coach ahead of the 2024 season.
Schmidt is no stranger to the Upper Peninsula and the Wildcat way, as he spent five seasons from 2019-2023Â and was a consistent face in the Green and Gold lineup.Â
A heartbeat for the Wildcats in his time at NMU, Keegan became the program record holder in career games played after the 2023 season. A driving force on the back end, Schmidt was named GLIAC Honorable Mention in his fifth season after recording 1,259 minutes played as a starter in 15 of 16 matches.Â
Prior to NMU, the Bettendorf, Iowa native was a two-time Player of the Year while playing with the Iowa City Alliance and Sporting Iowa East, and was an All-Academic All-District selection.Â
