Biography
2021-22 (Sophomore): In his second year with the Wildcats, DiMatteo posted an impressive record of 13-8-1…stopped 536 pucks during the year...finished the year with a save percentage of .887 and a goals-against-average of 3.48…tallied a career-high in saves with 43 on two occasions (Minnesota State on 10/29/21 and Michigan Tech on 11/12/21).
2020-21 (Freshman): Joined the team at the start of the winter semester … saw action in 14 games played, making his first collegiate start in a 4-3 overtime victory at LSSU where he made 34 saves in the contest (2/7/21) … boasted a 7-6-1 record between the pipes … recorded his first career shutout in a 0-0 tie against BGSU, lifting his team to the extra point in WCHA standings with six saves in the shootout … recorded a career-high 39 saves in the Wildcats’ 5-1 victory in game three at BGSU to advance to the WCHA semifinals, boasting a .975 save percentage in the contest … led his team to the WCHA championship game with a .966 save percentage against MSU (3/19/21), allowing just one goal on 29 shots faced … was named WCHA Rookie of the Week following his performance at BSU (2/15/21) in which he continued his undefeated record with a 3-0-0 figure to start his college career.
