Biography

2017-18 (Senior): Klimke was one of eight Wildcats to compete in all 43 games during his senior campaign in which he was voted by his teammates as an alternate captain...Recorded career-highs with three goals, 15 assists and 18 points...His first point of the season came on November 10 at Michigan Tech when he recorded an assist...That started his first of two three-game scoring streaks that lasted until November 17, totaling three assists...Klimek’s first goal of the season came on December 15 versus Ferris State...He finished the game with a pair of goals and an assist for a career-high three points...That game also started a three-game scoring streak that lasted until December 29 and included two goals and three assists...Klimek also recorded a career-high plus/minus rating of +16 to lead the team, while his 48 blocked shots were second-most on the team...He was twice named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week in December en route to league Player of the Month honors...For the month, he totaled two goals and six assists with his assist and point total leading WCHA defenseman during the span.

2016-17 (Junior): Was one of nine Wildcats to appear in all 39 games, registering 11 assists ... Finished fourth on the team with 53 blocked shots ... Was second among Wildcat defensemen in plus/minus (+2) and third in shots on goal (48) ... Strung together a three-game point streak (3a) from Nov. 12 to Nov. 19 ... Ran together a second three-game point streak (3a) from Feb. 11 to Feb. 18 ... Had a two-helper outing Jan. 20 against Alaska-Anchorage ... Finished a season-best +3 Nov. 4 at Wisconsin ... Took a season-high five shots Jan. 7 against Lake Superior State ... Named to WCHA All-Academic Team.

2015-16 (Sophomore): Was one of five Wildcats to appear in all 38 games ... Notched 10 points (1g-9a) and led the team in plus/minus (+12) ... Finished fourth on the team in blocks (39) and tied for third among defensemen in shots (37) ... Was the only Wildcat to boast a plus/minus higher than +8 and the only defenseman to finish better than +2 ... Tied for fourth in the WCHA in conference plus/minus (+12) ... Netted first collegiate goal Oct. 10 at Wisconsin ... With an assist in that game, enjoyed his second career multi-point outing ... Recorded three assists in a four-game span from Nov. 6 to Nov. 21 ... Assisted on two game-winning goals, at Alaska-Fairbanks Nov. 7 and against Alaska-Fairbanks Jan. 16 ... Finished a season-best +3 against Bemidji State Oct. 31 and against Ferris State Dec. 12 ... Took a season-high four shots against Minnesota-Duluth Jan. 30 ... Earned Northern Michigan's Most Improved Player award ... Named a WCHA Scholar-Athlete and to the WCHA All-Academic Team.

2014-15 (Freshman): Skated in 37 games, the second-most among Wildcat newcomers, and recorded four assists ... Finished fifth on the team in blocks (29) ... Netted first collegiate points with two helpers against Bowling Green Dec. 5 ... Finished a season-best +2 against Alabama-Huntsville Nov. 1 ... Took a season-high three shots three times, against Ferris State Nov. 8, against Bemidji State Feb. 13 and against Lake Superior State Feb. 28.

Before NMU: Spent the 2013-14 campaign with the Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL), registering 16 points (2g-14a) in 54 games ... During 2012-13, skated for the Surrey Eagles (BCHL), totaling 23 points (6g-17a) in 52 games ... Recorded six assists in 17 playoff games to help the Eagles capture a BCHL championship.
