Northern Michigan University

Hans Andel was hired as the equipment supervisor at NorthernMichigan University in January of 2011. Prior to his hiring, he worked as assistant equipment manager and student manager since July of 1999, at NMU.

Andel works with all 13 varsity sports, with his primary focus on football. Duties include, ordering safety equipment for the teams, fitting athletes with protective equipment, fixing broken equipment, ordering practice and game apparel for the teams,practice field, locker room and game day set-up.

Andel received a bachelor’s degree in social science geography from NMU. He is also a certified equipment manager through the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA).

Andel is also the faculty adviser for the NMU fencing club.
