Biography

2012-13:  Lettered for the first time after appearing in 11 games and starting three. Scored 25 points while shooting 46.7 percent from the field. Had a career-high eight points against Finlandia (Nov. 17). Had six points and four rebounds in win over Ashland (Jan. 3).

Before NMU:  Played two seasons (2007-09) at Grand Rapids Community College under Dave Selmon as a forward and center.

High School:  Lettered twice under Todd Johnston and Jeff Patin. Team won 2006 districts. Also participated in baseball where he was a two-time all-conference selection and held the fourth best batting average in school history.

Personal:  A 2007 graduate of Kenowa Hills High School. Majoring in secondary physical education/coaching. Son of Greg and Helen Smith. Mother played volleyball, softball and basketball at the Oakland University. Father Greg is in the Hall of Fame of Metro State College of Denver for Athletics Administration. Born on December 5, 1988.
