Biography
2021-22: Recognized as NMU's Male Athlete of the Year. In his second season with the ‘Cats, Bjorklund earned All-GLIAC Second Team recognition…finished top of the charts for the ‘Cats with 455 points in 27 games played (16.9 PPG), where he surpassed 1,000 career collegiate points, to go along with 88 rebounds, 61 assists and 18 steals on the season. He also led the team in field goals made (160) and free-throw made (75)...shot 47% from the field and 45% from beyond the arc (third in the GLIAC) to go along with 73% free-throw shooting…had the most recognizable performance of the season and in recent memory for NMU, scoring 40 of his 46 points in the second half of the regular season finale at Ferris State. He shot 14-15 from the field and 9-10 from three for the most dominant half in program history and one of the best halves in college basketball history. Bjorklund took home GLIAC North Player of the Week honors following that performance.
2020-21: Started in each of his 13 games. Led the team in scoring with an average of 14.8 ppg. Named the GLIAC North Player of the Week on Feb. 8th after averaging 25 ppg in two games vs. Northwood. Was named to the All-GLIAC Second Team and a member of NABC Honors Court at the conclusion of the season.
Before NMU: Transferred in from Bemidji State University. Was a two-time all-conference selection and was named to the All-State Third Team in the 2016-17 season for Orono High School. Appeared in 45 games and has averaged 11.1 points per game during his two seasons with Bemidji State.
