2016: Played in 28 matches and 108 sets. Led the team with 38 service aces. Finished second on the team in hitting percentage (.282), total blocks (92), block assists (77) and solo blocks (15). Also ranked third on the team in kills (254) and kills per set (2.35). Reached the 10-dig plateau 14 times, posting a season-best 19 against Michigan Tech on Sept. 27. Recorded a season-high eight blocks at Saginaw Valley State on Sept. 16. Was named to the all-GLIAC honorable mention team.
2015: Appeared in 25 matches and 83 sets. Reached 141 kills, 22 digs, 13 block solos and had 295 total attack attempts. Named to the 2015 Fall Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Excellence team.
2014: Appeared in 25 matches and 68 sets recording 52 kills on the season. Matched her career-high of six kills in four matches, while recording a block per set average of 0.78. Bussell recorded six block assists at Ashland Sep. 20.
2013: Appeared in 28 matches and 85 sets. Recorded 68 kills and 14 digs on the season. Had a career high of six kills three times; Lake Erie (Sep 27), Tiffin (Oct 19), and Ashland (Nov 23). Added a career high in digs with three against Michigan Tech (Oct 1) and Southern Indiana (Oct 25).
Before NMU: Lettered in volleyball four times at St. Francis High School. Three time all-region first team, four time scholar athlete, two time all-conference academic and all-state second team (2011). In 2012, named Max Prep All-American First Team and all-state first team. Team was 2012 Class C State Finalist. Lettered three times in basketball and softball. Named all-conference in basketball (2012-13) and softball (2011-12). Participated in Leland Area Volleyball Club.
Personal: Enjoys volleyball, softball, basketball, swimming, skiing, camping, hiking, kayaking and being with friends and family. Daughter of James and Kathleen Bussell. Born on May 3, 1995.
