NMU Swim and Dive Announces 2026/27 Schedule

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The NMU men's and women's swim team has announced its 2026/27 slate of competitions for the upcoming season.

The 'Cats open the season with its annual Green and Gold exhibition scrimmage at the PEIF Pool on the campus of Northern Michigan University. The meet begins at 10 AM on Saturday, September 19, officially kicking-off the campaign.

The 'Cats then travel to St. Cloud, Minnesota to swim against the Huskies in a two day event, running from Friday, October 2, through Saturday, October 3, with start times of 4 PM and 10 AM, respectively. The Wildcats and Huskies will swim in the Helenbeck Pool from the campus of St. Cloud.

The Wildcats are then back in the PEIF Pool, hosting Saginaw Valley at 6 PM on Friday, October 23, before hosting the Cardinals and the Grand Valley State Lakers at 11 AM on Saturday, October 24.

November only sees one weekend of competition for the Green and Gold, facing off against conference foe Wayne State, and regional opponent Findlay on Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, in Detroit, Michigan, at the Matthaei Natatorium on the campus of Wayne State.

The 'Cats are then back to the Calvin Invite, an event well attended by the Wildcats in the programs recent memory, for the four-day event at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The meet features multiple schools, acting similar to the conference and national championship meet, giving swimmers a good feel for what postseason action will look like. The invite runs from Thursday, December 3, through Sunday, December 6.

The Wildcats will compete in the CSCAA Open Water Collegiate Nationals once again, this time taking place on Saturday, December 12. Returners Zachary Billotte and Alessandro Rosatelli competed for the men, and returner Ellie Kilgard represented the women.

The 'Cats head to Stevens Point, Wisconsin to compete against the UW-Stevens Point Pointers on Saturday, January 16 before returning home for the final regular-season contest of the season. NMU is set to host Lake Superior State and UW-Green Bay for senior day from the PEIF Pool on Saturday, January 1, at 1 PM.

The postseason slate begins with the GLIAC Championships running from Wednesday, February 17, through Saturday, February 20, at the Holland Aquatic Center in Holland, Michigan. Sunday, February 21 will be the Last Chance Meet if necessary, before the 'Cats are off to the NCAA Championships from Tuesday, March 9, through Saturday, March 13.

Just as the season began, the season will end with a spring scrimmage, with the team taking to the PEIF Pool on Friday, April 16, at 4 PM.
