Gault and Ewart sign with ECHL Teams

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- Former Northern Michigan University hockey players, Caiden Gault and Tynan Ewart, have signed deals in the ECHL.

Gault, 23, joined the Wildcats after three seasons with the Ferris State Bulldogs, and led the Wildcats with 16 goals and 18 points in 33 games as a senior alternate captain. Gault signs his first professional contract with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Ontario Reign. The Swamp Rabbits are currently 24th in the league and 11th in the eastern conference with 50 points.

Ewart, 24, was a member of the Wildcats for two seasons, where he was a team captain this past season. Ewart played an important role on the Wildcat blue line, where he averaged the second-most minutes on the team (21:41 avg/TOI), played both penalty kill and power play, and blocked a team-high 72 shots. Ewart signs an Amateur Tryout (ATO) with The Maine Mariners, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Boston Bruins and AHL's Providence Bruins. At the time of writing, Ewart has played two games for the Mariners, who are amidst an 11-game win streak. The Mariners are currently ninth in the league and fifth in the eastern conference with 71 points.
