MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan volleyball team (8-8, 5-3 GLIAC) hits the road this weekend for a pair of conference matches, traveling to Davenport (11-4, 5-3 GLIAC) on Friday, October 9, at 6 p.m. before heading to Wayne State (7-9, 3-5 GLIAC) on Saturday, October 10, at 4 p.m.
The Wildcats enter the weekend with plenty of momentum after sweeping Lake Superior State last Saturday, following a 3-1 victory over Parkside the night before. The two wins moved NMU to 5-3 in conference play, putting the Wildcats in a tie for third place in the GLIAC at the halfway point of the conference schedule.
With the Wildcats looking to extend their winning streak to three matches, NMU will see Davenport for the second time this season while clashing with Wayne State for the first time. This weekend presents another opportunity to make a move in a tightly contested GLIAC race.

A Word From Mike Lozier
To get the sweep was huge, and it's a lot of good momentum going into the next few weeks. It's been harder day-to-day in the gym in terms of how we're pushing each other. We're playing the long game instead of worrying day-to-day about what needs to change.
