DETROIT – The Northern Michigan volleyball team was swept by Wayne State on Saturday, falling in straight sets 15-25, 15-25, 10-25. and The Wildcats move to 9-9 overall and 6-4 in GLIAC play, while the Warriors improve to 8-10 and 4-6 in conference action.
Wayne State jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in the opening set and maintained control throughout, taking the first set 25-15 while leading from the start. The Warriors carried that momentum into the second, separating early on and claiming another 25-15 victory.
Northern opened the third set with 3-2 lead, one of only six points they held the lead with on the day. But Wayne State quickly responded and used a 5-0 run to pull ahead 11-5. The Warriors didn't look back, hitting .577 in the third and closing out the match with a 25-10 win to complete the sweep.
Wayne State hit .411 as a team compared to Northern Michigan's .100.
Anna O'Keefe led the Wildcats with seven kills, while Kyleigh Weck paced the Warriors with 13.

The Wildcats will head to the Midwest Crossover Tournament in Hammond, Indiana, on Friday and Saturday, October 16-17. Northern's opponents will be announced in the coming days.
