ZAGREB, CROATIA - Two members of the Northern Michigan Greco-Roman Wrestling team competed at the Senior World Championships in Croatia this past weekend.
At 60kg,
Max Black finished in 13th place. He recorded a 7-1 loss to Aidos Sultangali (KAZ), rebounded with a 5-1 win over Melkamu Fetene (ISR), and then lost to Ri Se-Ung (PRK) by tech fall, 9-0.
Payton Jacobson was in competition at 87kg, earning a 7th place finish. He started with an 8-0 victory over Karan Kamboj (IND), lost to Aleksander Komarov (SRB) 5-1, bounced back with a 9-1 tech fall win over So Sakabe (JPN), and then lost to Islam Yevloev (KAZ) 5-1 in his final match.
