INDIANAPOLIS – In its first season of competition in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Northern Michigan women's wrestling team has been picked to finish fifth, as announced by the league on Thursday.

In his first season with the Wildcats,
Adam Wilson will look to guide the roster of 19 student-athletes to the top of the conference in the inaugural season of women's wrestling in the GLVC.
Northern enters the season at No. 22 in the NWCA National Rankings. Among individual rankings,
Alissa Caltagirone is 5th nationally at 145 and 2nd in Region 4. Other regional rankings include
Zhivanna Magdaleno 5th at 117,
Keaton Hood 3rd at 138,
Sophia Bassino 4th at 160, and
Abbie Miles 3rd at 207.
The Wildcats open the season at the Pointer Open hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Saturday, November 1.
