PREVIEW: Men's Soccer Has Mid-Week Match against Parkside

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU men's soccer team rounds out the road schedule after the weekend in the Lower Peninsula, competing in its only mid-week match of the season.

The Wildcats (4-4-4, 3-4-1 GLIAC) no play its third road game in six days, after falling to both Davenport and Saginaw Valley over the weekend, the first time all season the 'Cats have lost back-to-back games. This marks the final regular-season road contest for the Wildcats, as the clubs final three matches are at home.

The Rangers (4-4-3, 4-2-2 GLIAC) have only lost once in its last six games, and are 3-1-2 in that stretch. The Rangers had the same opponents as the Wildcats over the weekend, falling to the Cardinals and drawing the Panthers.

This is a critical meeting between the two sides; Parkside holds 14 points in third place on the conference table, and the Wildcats hold 10 points in the fourth place. A Wildcat win would bring the 'Cats within one point of home-field advantage for the first round of the GLIAC playoffs, where a defeat would spread the gap between third and fourth to seven points with only three games remaining.

The Wildcats and Rangers met just over a month ago, as the two sides opened the conference schedule against each other in Marquette. The Rangers came away victorious in a 3-1 decision, with Luca Rosen scoring for NMU. The 'Cats only have two victories over Parkside in program history, with both of those coming on the road.
