The NMU men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Motor City Shakedown, finishing fourth of five teams and posting a trio of top-20 finishes.

The Wildcats had a great tournament, posting a three-round total of 921 (+57), just five strokes shy of tying the tenth-best three-round score in NMU men's golf history. The 15 birdies in round one matched the tenth-best team birdie count in 18 holes. The 'Cats shot an impressive first round 295 (+7), and trailed only Davenport (-1) after the first round. From there, NMU carded rounds of 316 (+28) and 310 (+22).

Leading the charge for the 'Cats was Tyler Annala, who shot rounds of 71 (-1), 79 (+7), and 78 (+6) for a three-round total of 288 (+12), finishing 14th among the field. Annala's opening round 71 featured six birdies, matching the six he recorded on this exact date at this exact tournament last season, one birdie shy of matching the program record. Annala recorded six more over the final two rounds to give him 12 circles on the tournament, good for second-most in the field, and a number that is good for third-most in program history. Both Arthur Ylitalo and Levi Pennala finished among the top-20, with the pair of them shooting matching 229s (+13) and finishing T17.
