PREVIEW: Wildcats Head to Lower Peninsula For a Pair of Weekend Matches

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU men's soccer team returns to the pitch, coming off a big weekend. The 'Cats took down the previously undefeated and No. 17 Saginaw Valley (1-0), then tied Davenport (1-1), claiming four of a possible six conference points. This week, NMU will face those same opponents once more, but this time, on the road. The 'Cats will first travel to Grand Rapids for Friday's match, followed by Saginaw Valley for Sunday's Match.

The Wildcats remain in the fourth spot in the GLIAC rankings, one spot behind Saginaw Valley. NMU will begin this weekend of play with a conference record of 3-2-1 and an overall record of 4-2-4.

After receiving two losses over the weekend, Saginaw Valley falls from the national rankings after being positioned as the 17th-ranked team in the nation last weekend. The reigning GLIAC champions now hold a conference record of 4-2-0 and an overall record of 5-2-3.
