MARQUETTE, Mich. - Returning from a weekend in Minnesota, the Northern Michigan men's soccer team is set to host the Pride of Purdue Northwest and the Rangers of Wisconsin Parkside in two critical conference matchups.
Tough matchups make their way for the Wildcats as they will face last year's GLIAC conference champions in Purdue Northwest and GLIAC regular season champions in Parkside.
The Pride appeared in the NCAA tournament last season, are receiving votes in this weeks national poll, and is currently 3rd in the GLIAC. The Rangers also appeared in the NCAA tournament last season, come into the weekend ranked 21st in the nation, and hold the 2nd place in the GLIAC.
The Wildcats will face the Pride on Friday, September 27 at 3 p.m., and the Rangers on Sunday, September 29 at 2 p.m.

A Look at Purdue Northwest
The reigning GLIAC tournament champions are coming in with a strong lineup, as graduate student, Jacob Battista, was recently named GLIAC Offensive Player of the week. Battista also leads the Lions' team in points with four goals and two assists. Senior, Christian Booth, is runner-up in points for Purdue, with three goals and one assist. Starting goalkeeper, Tomas Rozman has played 420 minutes in total for the Lions, holding four goals scored against and a save percentage of 0.765.
The Lions are currently placed 3rd in the GLIAC, holding a 3-1-1 overall record, and a 0-0-1 record in the conference.
A Look at Parkside
The Rangers are placed 2nd in the GLIAC, with a record of 2-0-2 overall, and 0-0-1 in the conference. A redshirt junior, Chris Estrada, leads the Rangers in points, with three goals and one assist. Senior Jules Peycelon is also coming in strong for the Rangers offense, holding two goals and one assist under his belt. Starting goalkeeper, Daniyal Rana, is a redshirt junior with three goals scored against and a save percentage of 0.727.
