PREVIEW: Women's Lacrosse set to Close Out 2024 Regular Season

MARQUETTE, Mich - The Northern Michigan women's lacrosse team hits the road for their final game of the regular season, squaring off against the Concordia University - St. Paul Golden Bears on Saturday afternoon. 

The Wildcats are currently 12-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play, sitting at the No. 2 spot in the GLIAC a week before the conference tournament.

  • Senior Minnie Bittell remains at the top of the GLIAC in terms of scoring output, leading all the major categories (63g, 27a, 90 pts) 
    • Bittell is just two points away from 300 career points and 10 away from 100 points in the season
  • Freshman Josie Lakosky holds the third spot for this season's goals and for overall points in the GLIAC (38g, 12a, 50pts)
  • Senior Kaitlyn Bridger has the third-highest points for the Wildcats and has 60 draw controls on the season (31g, 13a, 44 pts)
    • Bridger is 5 goals away from the 100 career goals milestone
  • Sophomore Laine Stanton scored her career-high of goals in a game against the Bears earlier this season (4g)

A Look at the Golden Bears 
Concordia currently sits fourth in the GLIAC with an overall record of 6-10 and a conference record of 1- 4, most recently falling to the Davenport Panthers in a 9-12 decision last Sunday. Freshman goalkeeper Marge Lucio hangs onto the top spot in the GLIAC for overall saves (124), and sophomore Susie Monson is the Bears point leader with 56 total points (37g, 19a, 56 pts) and 84 draw controls on the season. 

The Wildcats defeated the Bears earlier in the 2024 season in a 21-12 decision, and now look to round out the regular season with a win.
