MARQUETTE, Mich - The NMU lacrosse team will embark on a spring break road trip through Missouri this week, playing three games from Monday the 4th to Friday the 8th.
The 'Cats start in Kansas City to play the Rockhurst Hawks then travel to Liberty to take on the William Jewell Cardinals before finishing in St. Joseph to round up the road trip with Missouri Western State.
The 'Cats are 5-1 to start their season and will look to keep momentum building as the green and gold begins their month-long stint away from home.

Cat Nips
- Senior Minnie Bittell leads the 'Cats in points with 37 overall (27g, 10a) freshman Josie Lakosky trails behind with 22 points overall (16g, 6a) both leading the GLIAC in points
- Juniors Maddi Bast and Dayna Carlson lead the team with ground balls with 15 collectively
- Senior Kaitlyn Bridger dominates draw controls with 26 total contributing to the Wildcats No. 1 conference ranking in draw controls
Looking at the Hawks
The Rockhurst Hawks will play their first game on Friday, March 1st against the McKendree Bearcats before playing the 'Cats March 4th. In the GLVC preseason poll the Hawks were ranked No. 3 overall after a third place finish in the 2023 season where they had an overall record of 10-6. First team all GLVC honoree Mackenzie Blair returns after having 32 points on the 2023 season.
The Wildcats have matched up with the Hawks twice in previous seasons, dropping both games. Most recently playing the Hawks in March of 2023 with a 16-9 decision.
Looking at the Cardinals
The William Jewell College Cardinals have a record of 1-2 at the start of the season, most recently dropping to Missouri Western in a 5-17 decision. In the GLVC preseason poll they were ranked at No. 8 respectively. Cardinals freshman Olivia Fornelli is the point leader with 11 overall points (5g, 6a).
This will be the first time the Cardinals and Wildcats have ever faced off.
Looking at the Griffons
In the GLVC preseason poll the Missouri Western Griffons were ranked No. 4 respectively. The Griffons are currently 4-0 on the season most recently defeating the Quincy Hawks in a 13-12 decision. There are four returning Second Team All-GLVC honorees and three returning Honorable Mention honorees for the Griffons, one of which is the current team point leader Sam Pruitt (24 points).
The Wildcats are 2-0 with the Griffons in the past and look to remain undefeated with the GLVC team.
