Cat Nips Looking at the Saints
Maryville (2-0 overall) is currently ranked No.11 in the IWLCA national polls and ranked No. 1 in the GLVC conference. The Saints have decisively won their first two matches, winning 25-4 and 25-3 against regional DII opponents.

Senior attacker Sydney Tiemann was named the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division II Preseason Player of the Year going into the 2024 season, and was awarded GLVC Offensive Player of the Week this week. Tiemann is currently leading the Saints in points (13) this season with 10 goals and three assists in the first two games. Another senior attacker to watch is Jessie Hynes who closely follows Tiemann in points (12) with six goals and six assists.

The Wildcats are 2-1 with the Saints most recently falling to Maryville in a 21-11 deficit on March 9th, 2023.

Looking at the Bennies
The Bennies are projected to win the Midwest Lacrosse Conference championship this year after going 7-0 in the MLC last year.

Freshman midfielder Emma Nelson was selected as an MLC Player to Watch heading into the 2024 season. Head coach Patrick Crandall was awarded MWLC Coach of the Year in 2023, and sophomore Sami Hackley was named MWLC Rookie of the Year. Sophomores Chloe Lewis and Grace Fitzgibbons joined Hackley as All-MWLC first-team selections.

This weekend will mark the first time the 'Cats and Bennies will meet each other in competition. Head coach Patrick Crandall is the father of newly-named Wildcat assistant coach Quinn Crandall

Looking at the Bearcats
McKendree currently sits at seventh in the GLVC conference, and most recently dropped their first game to GLVC opponent Missouri Western.

Senior midfielder Olivia Julian and junior attacker Jenna Sugarman currently lead the Bearcats with three goals each. Julian was selected as All-GLVC third team in 2023 and currently has 100% shot percentage from the first game of the year. Freshman goalkeeper Amber Hayden had 18 saves and a 51.4% save percentage against Missouri Western.

The Wildcats are 1-6 with the Bearcats since 2017, most recently defeating McKendree 16-13 on March 25th, 2023.
