About a third of the way through the regular season, the Wildcats have six more games until the holiday break before embarking on the Great Lakes Invitational. Coming off of a weekend that saw NMU take two critical points with a shootout win and hold one of the nations best teams to minimal shots and opportunities, the Wildcats now look to take momentum and rest as they embark on another lengthy road trip this holiday weekend.

Will Diamond was named CCHA Rookie of the Week two weekends ago, when he scored his first career collegiate goal and sent the game to overtime against the Mavericks.

This meeting marks just the second time these two teams have met for a weekend, as NMU played host to AU in the Berry Events Center last season, with the Vikings taking game one in a shootout and game two by a 5-3 final.

The Vikings are led by a trio with nine points, with Owen Bohn (6-3--9),Brett Meerman (4-5--9), and Payton Matsui (1-8--9). Freshman Joey DelGreco has been the most productive Viking as of late, as he currently is riding a five-game point streak (4-3--7) with a goal in four of the five contests. Josh Kotai has been stellar between the pipes, as he is second to only Tracy of MSU in SV% (93.9%) and GAA (1.92) among CCHA netminders with five or more games played. Defenseman Uula Ruikka scored a goal and an assist against the Bulldogs last weekend, earning him CCHA Defender of the Week honors.

The Vikings are 2-2-0 at home, with the last home series on November 8 and 9, a 3-4 OTL and 5-1 win over Bemidji State.
