A Look at Saginaw Valley
Last season GLIAC Tournament Runners-Up, Saginaw Valley holds a 7-4 record overall, with a 3-3 conference record. Making a comeback, the Cardinals are currently on a two-game winning streak, with a 3-0 win against St. Cloud State and a 2-1 win against Northern Michigan last weekend.
The Cardinals earned both defensive player of the week (Francisco Capellan) and offensive player of the week (Jayden Cameron) after the weekend's two matches. After scoring two goals this weekend, Cameron is currently tied with Mzo Mthembu for leading the Cardinals in points (who both hold 10). Mthembu, having scored five goals this season, recorded a hat-trick and four goals in two games to start the season, but has since only scored once in his past seven outings. Cameron records two goals and four assists, who earned four more points this weekend by scoring one goal against St. Cloud and one goal against NMU. Closely behind the two is senior Jonny Monney, who currently has eight points from scoring four goals.
A Look at Davenport
The Panthers are currently ranked 3rd in the GLIAC, holding a record of 2-1-3 in the conference and 5-3-4 overall.
The Panthers are led by freshman Easton Lopez, who scored two goals this past weekend after not being able to find the score sheet for the previous six games. Lopez now holds 12 points overall, with six goals in total.
Junior Andrew Dykstra, who was leading the Panthers in points just last week, is now runner-up with nine points, holding four goals and one assist. Junior Cam Power follows closely behind with seven points (two goals and three assists), and only has one assist in his previous six outings.
