MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University women's lacrosse team will host a pair of GLIAC matchups to wrap up its regular season play, capped off with Senior Day to honor the team's veterans on Sunday. Friday will feature the Davenport University Panthers at 5 p.m., with Sunday's tilt against the Grand Valley State Lakers slated for noon.
After a weekend that saw two road wins, the Wildcats sit second in the GLIAC with a 9-5 overall record and a 3-1 conference record. The nine wins tie for a program-high (2022), and the 'Cats will look to set a new benchmark this weekend.Â
The Panthers sit fourth with records of 2-13 overall and 0-5 in conference play, and the Lakers are at the top of the GLIAC with an 11-4 overall record and are 5-0 in conference play.Â

The Wildcats closed out its seven-game road trip with two wins against Augsburg and GLIAC opponent Concordia St.Paul
The Wildcats first traveled to Augsburg University for its final non-conference game of the season, winning with a 16-point margin against the Hawks 19-3.
Katelyn Mongold led in goals with three, while

The 'Cats then traveled to Concordia University – St. Paul for a GLIAC matchup. After trailing 2-0 early, the Wildcats would go on to win by a four-point margin against the Golden Bears at 11-7. Madi Bast and

Hannah Melander made a total of twelve saves in the game, posting a .632 SV%.Â

A Look at Davenport
Davenport has been on the tail end of a rough stretch of games, going 2-8 in the last ten outings of its season, most recently two losses to Grand Valley by scores of 21-10 and 14-5. This will be the Panther's last regular season game before a quick hiatus before the GLIAC playoffs.Â
The Panthers are led by Blakely Malpass, who paces the team in goals (37), assists (7), points (44), shots (90), SOG (66), and FPG (12). Maisy Latus has started and finished all 15 games in net for Davenport, with her 131 saves second across GLIAC netminders. She also holds a 13.40 GAA and a .464 SV%.Â
A Look at Grand Valley State
The Lakers come into the weekend as the best team in the GLAIC and are currently on an eight-game winning streak, including a 5-0 record against conference opponents in that stretch, most recently a 16-5 win against Walsh and a 14-5 win against Davenport.
Offensively, the Lakers are led by both Maddy Champagne and Molly Bursinger, who are one and two in goals (44, 43), assists (15, 15), and points (59, 58). The Lakers have spread around goalkeeping duties this season and as a team hold an 8.93 GAA and a 38.0 SV%.
