NMU Hockey Announces 2023 National Signing Day Additions

Wildcats add six forwards, three defensemen, and one goalie that includes three NHL draft picks.

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU men's hockey team announces the signing of 10 athletes; six forwards, three defensemen, and one goalie that includes three NHL draft picks.

Hampton Slukynsky (LA Kings draft pick) - G - Fargo Force (USHL)
A 2023 fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings, Slukynsky is a 6'1" netminder who will be joining his brother Grant as a Wildcat. A gold-medal winner at the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship, he posted a 54-5-2 record with a .933 SV% and a 1.53 GAA with 18 shutouts over two seasons at Warroad High School. Slukynsky currently plays for the Fargo Force of the USHL where he is 7-0-0 with a .903 SV% and 1.92 GAA with one shutout.

Rasmus Larsson (NY Rangers draft pick) - D - Green Bay Gamblers (USHL)
A 2023 fifth-round pick of the New York Rangers, Larsson is a 6'3" left-shot defenseman from Hässelby, Sweden. In the 2022-23 season, Larsson played 50 games with Västerås IK in Sweden's top junior league, where he put up 16 goals and 18 assists with a +23 rating. Larsson also spent time with Sweden's U19 and U20 international teams, where he put up a combined four points and was +6 in seven games. Larsson currently plays with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, where he has a goal and five assists through 19 games.

Vladislav Lukashevich (Florida Panthers draft pick) - D - Tri-City Storm (USHL)
A 2021 fourth-round pick of the Florida Panthers, Lukashevich is a 6'1" left-shot defenseman from Magadan, Russia. During the 2022-23 season, Lukashevic was an alternate captain for Loko Yaroslavl, where he put up two goals and 16 assists for 18 points with a +19 rating in 45 games. Lukashevich currently plays for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL, where he has three goals and four assists for nine points in 16 games.

Jakub Altricher - FWD - Waterloo Blackhawks (USHL)
A 5'10" left-shot center, Altricher comes to NMU from Praha, Czechia. Last season, Altricher played his first season of juniors in the United States with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, where he had a goal and 11 assists for 12 points in 23 games. This season he is with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL, where he has four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 12 games with a +5 rating. 

Tanner Bruender - FWD - Green Bay Gamblers (USHL)
Bruender is a 6'0" left-shot center from Portland, Oregon, who has played the last two seasons in the USHL. Last year he put up two goals and five assists for seven points for the Sioux Fall Stampede, and this season he has three goals and three assists for six points through 19 games with the Green Bay Gamblers

Austin Moline - D - Shattuck St. Mary's (USHS-Prep)
A 6'4" right-shot defenseman from Las Vegas, Nevada, Moline has played the last two seasons with Shattuck St. Mary's 18U Prep of the USHS. Moline put up a goal and 21 assists for 22 points in 54 games with a +16 rating last season, and this year he has three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 20 games with a +6 rating.

Simon Meier - FWD - Penticton Vees (BCHL)
A 5'10" left-shot forward, Meier comes to the 'Cats from Bülach, Switzerland. Meier played for Kloten U20 of the Swiss U20-Elite league last season, putting up 10 goals and 27 assists for 37 points in 30 games. Meier also served as an alternate captain for Switzerland's U18 teams in both the World Junior Championships and internationally, scoring six goals and 10 assists between the two. Meier currently plays for the Penticton Vees of the BCHL, where he has five goals and 16 assists for 21 points in 18 games.

Adyn Merrick - FWD - Langley Rivermen (BCHL)
A 6'0" forward from Saline, Michigan, Merrick currently plays for the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL, where he has one assist in 14 games. Last season, Merrick played for the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL, where he had 10 goals and 8 assists for 18 points in 40 games.

William Renfrew - FWD - Penticton Vees (BCHL)
A 5'10" left-shot forward from Fairbanks, Alaska, Renfrew currently plays for the Penticton Vees of the BCHL, where he has four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 19 games. Renfrew played for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL a season prior, where he scored 23 goals and 32 assists for 55 points in 48 games.

Adam Pietila - FWD - Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)
A 6'0" right-shot forward from Howell, Michigan, Pietila currently plays for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL, where he has 10 goals and three assists for 13 points in 18 games. Last season, Pietila played for the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL, where he scored 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points in 51 games.
