The sides were tied at 15-15 nearly halfway through the first half when the Green and Gold 15 of the next 18 points to grab a double-digit lead at 30-18 with 7:13 to go. That'd be the largest lead of the night for NMU, as the Miners chipped away at the deficit with the first half winding down, closing it to six points before shots by Max Weisbrod and Sam Schultz made it 42-32 at the break.

Sam Privet connected on a triple with 11:54 on the clock to keep the lead at 12, 56-44, but from there, the Miners took over, scoring 14 straight points and 21 of the next 23 to lead 65-58 with five minutes to play.

Missouri S&T hit free throws down the stretch to close out the Wildcats.

Northern was led by Carson Smith with 22 points and a perfect 3-3 from downtown. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Max Weisbrod was the only other 'Cat to get into double figures with 19 points to go along with four assists.

Northern was outrebounded 42-31 while the Miners did what they needed to do at the free-throw line, going 17-19 (89.5%) to NMU's 4-8 (50.0%).
