MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University women's soccer team hits the road for a match set against rival the Michigan Tech Huskies. The Wildcats (7-1-2 overall, 3-1-2 GLIAC, 11 Pts.) take on Michigan Tech (4-2-4 overall, 3-1-2 GLIAC 11 Pts.) on Friday, October 6, at 7 p.m. This is an important game for the 'Cats, as both teams currently have 11 points in the GLIAC standings.
The 'Cats have remained nationally ranked for the fourth straight week, most in program history, coming in at no. 19 in the nation across D2 soccer, per United Soccer Coaches.
The game will be televised locally on FOX-UP, with Dave Ellis on the call.

- Molly Pistorius continues to be at the top of the GLIAC goal totals, as her seven tallies and 15 points are two clear of second place (5 and 13, respectively). Across the conference, Molly is the only student-athlete with multiple hat-tricks (2), and she is first in shots (19). Nationally, her 23 shots on goal are T18, her 39 shot attempts are T21, her 15 points are T25, and her seven goals are T34
- Forward Hannah Kastamo continues to make waves in her sophomore season, as she is second in the GLIAC in goals (5) and points (13), and T3 in assists (3).
- Brenna Musser leads the Wildcats with four assists, good for T1 across the GLIAC.
- Goalkeeper Jillian Thompson sits in first across the GLIAC in shutouts with six, good for T6 nationally. Across the GLIAC, Thompson also is leading the standings in wins (6) and in minutes played with 900. Her six goals against and 0.60 GAA are both best among goalies who have played in 694+ minutes.
- Gwen Kiilunen is the only Wildcat who has played almost all 900 minutes through the first ten matches; she currently stands at 894. Maria Storm and Isabelle Brusilow follow behind in terms of time played, with 857 and 830 respectively.
- As a team, the Wildcats have outscored its opponents 21-6 and outshot its opponents 194-58. Nationally, the Wildcats are T11 in shots on goal per game (10.00), seventh in shot attempts (194), and 13th in shots per game (19.40). The Wildcats lead the GLIAC in total goals scored (21), assists (14), shots (194), and shutouts (6).

The Wildcats returned to their home turf, drawing 0-0 against the no. 10 Grand Valley State Lakers and securing a 3-0 win against the Davenport Panthers.

The Huskies are heading into the Weekend carrying a 4-2-4 record, its latest win coming from a matchup against Ferris State on Sept. 24. Two Huskies accrued goals against Ferris, Cassie Bonifas (1) and Emilie Clayton (1), with Bonifas also recording an assist. In their most recent match against Grand Valley State, the Huskies fell to a 2-0 score. Seulgi Lee is T4 across the GLIAC in goals with four, and fourth in shots with 25.
The Wildcats have controlled the rivalry as of late, going 3-0-1 in the last four matchups and 6-3-1 the previous 10 matchups. The Wildcats will look to secure a massive three points from the outing.
