Without its top two scorers in
Max Bjorklund and
Brian Parzych, Northern Michigan continued its winning ways with a three-game sweep on the road. NMU started with an 81-52 non-conference win at Northwood, then put together GLIAC wins at Wayne State (64-62) and Saginaw Valley State (71-68). Freshman guard
Max Weisbrod averaged 19.3 points/game on the trip, pouring in a career-high 26 at Wayne State.
Cat Attack
The Wildcats are off to an 13-3 (5-1 GLIAC) start to the season, are tied for first in the conference standings, and bring a seven-game winning streak into the weekend. Northern is averaging 83.2 points/game, the second best mark in the GLIAC. For as young as the 'Cats are, they have the lowest turnover clip per game in the GLIAC at 10.4.
NMU is led by
Max Bjorklund, scoring 20.2 a contest, the best mark in the GLIAC.
Brian Parzych is second in scoring at 14.8 ppg. Freshmen
Dylan Kuehl (12.1) and
Max Weisbrod (11.1) are also averaging double figures.

The Wildcats enter the week receiving votes in the lastest editions of the NABC and D2SIDA national polls. NMU currently sits in 4th place in the Midwest regional poll.

Scouting Michigan Tech
Michigan Tech is 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the GLIAC. The Huskies are coming off of a commanidng 103-35 victory over Finlandia on Wednesday. Their GLIAC victory came over Ferris State, 69-68, on December 11.
MTU averages 67.7 ppg. The Michigan Tech scoring attack is led by freshman Marcus Tomashek (11.2), senior Adam Hobson (11.0), and freshman Dan Gherezgher (10.7).
