Homecoming on the Horizon for Football

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University football team will look to bounce back this week and they will host the Post University Eagles for Homecoming on Saturday at 2 p.m.  
 

LAST TIME OUT

The Wildcats traveled to Davenport University for a game, where they were unable to come out with a victory, falling to the Panthers 31-21. A late comeback attempt by the Wildcats failed as the Panthers were able to ice the game away late in the fourth quarter.  

THROUGH THE AIR

Drake Davis was 12-24 for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air against the Panthers. Wyatt Davis was the team leading receiver with three receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown. Tyshon King helped out through the air with a seven-yard touchdown reception from Davis. 

MAKING AN IMPACT

Tyshon King was the team-leading rusher in the game with 15 carries for 76 yards. King averaged 5.1 yards per carrying. On the defensive side of the ball, Antonio Howard had himself a day. Howard led the team in tackles with 15 (8 solo, 7 assisted). Howard also had a sack and a forced fumble. John McMullen had a sack on the day as well, he also added six tackles and two tackles for loss.  

WILDCATS TO WATCH

Drake Davis is first in the GLIAC in completions and passing touchdowns. Davis is also second in the GLIAC in completion percentage, passing yards, and passing yards per game. Tyshon King is second in the GLIAC in rushing yards and rushing yards per game. Justin Peake is second in the GLIAC in total tackles with 27.  

NMU VS POST

This is the first-ever matchup between the Wildcats and the Eagles.
