MARQUETTE, Mich.- Three NMU hockey players have agreed to terms with professional squads over the weekend.
Garrett Klee has inked a Professional Tryout (PTO) with the Kansas City Mavericks of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) on Friday, Mar. 18. The 6'1" 190-pound forward from Morrison, Colorado tallied a total of five points in the 2021-22 season, scoring one goal and netting four assists on the year. Klee suited up for the 'Cats in a total of 133 games during his tenure, tallying a total of 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points.
Klee will be joining the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL, a squad that currently sits sixth in the Mountain Division with a record of (28-29-4). The Mavericks are proud affiliates of the Calgary Flames (NHL) and Stockton Heat (AHL).
Bo Hanson signed on the dotted line with the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) on Friday, Mar. 18. The 6'2" 205-pound defenseman from Boise, ID., joined the Wildcats last offseason after spending a season with Denver University (NCHC) and three seasons with St.Lawrence University (ECAC). Grant Potulny, Hanson tallied a total of three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 35 games. Hanson ended his college career with 148 collegiate games, grabbing a career total of 15 goals and 48 assists for 63 points.
The Wheeling Nailers currently sit third in the central division of the ECHL with a record of (30-24-1). The Nailers are affiliates of the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL).
Trevor Cosgrove has agreed to an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) with the Bridgeport Islanders of the American Hockey League (AHL) on Sunday, Mar. 20. The 6'0" 195-pound defenseman posted a career-high 28 points this past season with the Wildcats, tallying nine goals and 19 assists. Cosgrove ended his collegiate career with Northern after spending four seasons at Colgate University (ECAC). Trevor accumulated 22 goals and 49 assists for a total of 70 points in 166 career games.
The Bridgeport Islanders are proud members of the American Hockey League. The Islanders currently sit seventh in the Atlantic Division with a record of (24-25-10). Bridgeport is the direct affiliate of the New York Islanders (NHL).
